21st December: Saturday’s Football Accumulator – 10/1

Putting in another impressive performance by picking up a 1-0 win away at last year s play-off finalists Derby last weekend, Millwall have continued to shine since brining in former Stoke boss Gary Rowett. Now landing back-to-back victories, including a 2-1 win away at top-six contenders Bristol City earlier in the month, the Lions are in the midst of a seven-match unbeaten that stems back to the 2nd of November. Skyrocketing up the Championship standings and within touching distance of breaking into the play-off spots, a huge part of Millwall s recent resurge has been their continued displays on home soil. Remarkably losing just a single matchup at the Den since opening the 2019/2020 campaign and it should also be noted that Saturday s hosts have bagged a pair of goals in each of their last six consecutive matches in South London. While Barnsley may have managed to snatch three points off of QPR thanks to an eight-goal thriller last time out, the Reds still sit firmly at the bottom of the table and new boss Gerhard Struber is still dealing with a string of defensive issues. With no Championship outfit holding a worse defensive return, they are also yet to record a victory on the road so far this season and Saturday could prove to be yet another testing afternoon.

Tip: Millwall to score over 1.5 goals @ 4/5

15:00 Forest Green vs Swindon

Picking up a 2-0 win over Oldham last weekend, few in League Two would have expected Swindon s stellar run of form nearing closer to Christmas. Holding a three-point buffer at the top of the fourth tier, Saturday s hosts have won their last seven domestic matches on the bounce and the mood around the County Ground remains at a continued high. Now seen to be a landslide favorite to secure a League One return next year, a huge part of Swindon s title charge has been their scintillating form in the final third. Led by attacking sensation Eoin Doyle who has already bagged 19 goals this season and leads the race for the Golden Boot, the Reds have now bagged 15 goals in just their last five appearances and should see Saturday s contest as a golden opportunity to extend on their recent purple patch. While Forest Green may have started the new season so brightly, Mark Cooper s men have lost their last three matches on the bounce and have failed to win any of their last five outings. Even more worrying for the hosts, Forest Green have failed to record a single strike in any of their previous three defeats and have failed to win any of their last four matches on home soil.
