Tuchel has no concerns about ´toxic´ Aubameyang but won´t discuss potential reunion

Thomas Tuchel would have no concerns about Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang s attitude but has refused to discuss the possibility of working with the Barcelona striker again at Chelsea.

The Blues have been linked with a move for Aubameyang after Tuchel acknowledged on Friday they could use new signings both in attack and defence.

Tuchel offered a firm no comment when asked about interest in either Aubameyang or Leicester City centre-back Wesley Fofana, but was willing to reflect on his work with the Barca front man while at Borussia Dortmund.

Aubameyang scored 56 Bundesliga goals in 63 games under Tuchel at BVB. Indeed, for no coach in the top five leagues has Aubameyang scored more goals, registered more goal contributions (63) or netted at a faster rate (94 minutes pe…

Keylor Navas deserves to be recognised as a Real Madrid legend, according to Fernando Morientes.

Navas, 33, spent five seasons with Madrid, winning a LaLiga title and three Champions Leagues among numerous other honours before joining Paris Saint-Germain last year.

Morientes, a Madrid great, believes the goalkeeper should be considered among the LaLiga club s best.

In the end, for example, at Real Madrid I tell you that he is a legend, the former striker told ESPN.

Son knows he ´needed the goals´ after hitting a double against Preston

Son Heung-min welcomed his return to goalscoring form after hitting a brace in Tottenham s FA Cup victory at Preston North End.

A second-half double in Saturday s 3-0 victory brought an end to a barren run for Son, who had scored just once in 13 appearances.

Spurs had struggled during that stretch, falling behind in the hunt for a top-four finish in the Premier League and seeing speculation mount over the future of Antonio Conte.

An FA Cup trip to Deepdale offered a break from that pressure, however, and Son flourished leading the line.

Back amongst the goals, Son feels the result can provide a boost ahead of next Sunday s league showdown against Manchester City.

I needed the goals for my confidence. It was really important, they were from the ki…

Mbappe and Haaland the next Messi and Ronaldo, says Mohamed Sissoko

Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland can reach the levels of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, according to former Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Mohamed Sissoko.

Both PSG forward Mbappe and Manchester City striker Haaland have proven to be highly talented players with phenomenal goalscoring records in recent seasons.

Haaland scored 67 goals in his two and a half seasons in the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund, and has subsequently lit up the Premier League since his transfer to City – scoring 14 goals in 10 outings in all competitions for Pep Guardiola s side.

Meanwhile, PSG s main man Mbappe has not been shy of scoring goals for some years now and on the biggest of stages, not least in the 2018 World Cup final with France.

With Messi an…

Atletico Madrid are one of the biggest clubs in Spain and regularly challenge for the La Liga title. Atleti also compete in the UEFA Champions League season after season. He´s an outstanding manager – Hughes full of praise for rival Wenger

Mark Hughes believes Arsene Wenger has done a remarkable job at Arsenal, even if the pair have not always seen eye-to-eye in the past.

Hughes takes struggling Southampton to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday desperate for a positive result as they bid to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

The Welshman has clashed at times with his Arsenal counterpart down the years, including one incident in 2009, when Wenger opted not to shake his fellow manager s hand following a 3-0 defeat to Hughes  Manchester City side.

However, while admitting the rivalry with the Frenchman did get a little bit silly in the past, Hughes is still full of praise for the longest-serving manager currently in England s top flight.

He s done a remarkable job. He s an outstanding m…

Wolves enjoy early Christmas present after condemning Chelsea to another defeat

Chelsea slumped to a third defeat in four Premier League games as second-half goals from Mario Lemina and Matt Doherty earned Wolves a deserved 2-1 victory at Molineux.

Lemina headed in unmarked from Pablo Sarabia’s corner early in the second period, just reward after Gary O’Neil’s side had weathered early pressure and the hosts had spurned a host of chances, most glaringly from Raheem Sterling.

Chelsea laboured to find a way back, but as so often this season failed to find the key pass in the final third, with Cole Palmer noticeably out of sorts.

Merry Christmas!

Then in stoppage time and with the visitors committed forward, Wolves broke and Hugo Bueno crossed for Doherty to take advantage of a poor clearance…
